1. Information We Collect
Account information: your email address, username, display name, password (stored encrypted, never in plain text), and optionally a bio, profile photo, cover photo, and camera gear list. Content you create: photos, collections, communities and community photos, status updates, comments, and direct messages. Relationship data: who you follow, block, mute, and your favorite categories. Device information: a device token used solely to deliver push notifications, if you enable them. We don't collect precise location data.
2. How We Use Information
To operate the app's core features — showing your feed, delivering messages, displaying content from people you follow, and sending the push notifications you've enabled. To keep the app safe — reviewing reports, enforcing blocks, and preventing abuse. We do not use your information to serve third-party ads, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. Sharing of Information
Content you post publicly (public photos, collections, communities, status updates) is visible to other users by design. Direct messages are visible only to their participants. We share information with service providers who help us run the app — currently Supabase for account and data hosting, and Apple's push notification service to deliver notifications — solely to provide the service, not for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required by law.
4. Your Choices & Controls
You can edit or delete your profile information, delete any photo or collection you've posted, block or mute any user, and control notifications by category (messages, likes, comments, follows, status updates, new galleries) in Account Settings. Blocking a user prevents them from messaging you and stops their activity from notifying you. Deleting your account removes your content from public view.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and posted content are removed from public view. Some information may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Children's Privacy
Memoria is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Your California Privacy Rights
If you're a California resident, you may have rights under California law to know what personal information we've collected about you, request its deletion, and request correction of inaccurate information. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details on our Support page.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Memoria after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
